Philippians - Our citizenship is in Heaven
The book of Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul to believers in the Roman colony of Philippi. In the first chapter of this letter Paul indicates that he’s experiencing imprisonment and that even in these. circumstances the gospel is advancing. God doesn’t waste human suffering. Paul sees those around him in captivity come to know Jesus. (Acts 16:25-34)
The ‘out of this world’ message of the gospel a means that death is ultimately gain for those who trust Jesus. Every other relationship, accolade or possession pales in comparison to knowing Christ.
